Boko Haram: 350 CJTF trained in self-reliance, entrepreneurship

The European Union (EU), in partnership with the British Council, has begun skills acquisition and entrepreneurship training to support 350 members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) for self-reliance in Borno State.

British Council project manager, Emmanuel Iyaji, said this Wednesday at the start of a two-day skills acquisition training and entrepreneurship support for CJTF members in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno.

He noted that the C JTF is an integral part of operations against the insurgency against Boko Haram insurgents in Borno state.

He emphasized that the CJTF members had been trained in electrical installation, carpentry and furniture manufacturing, fashion design and dressmaking, welding technology, leather and shoemaking, hairdressing, confectionery, perfume, liquid soap, room fresheners and disinfectants.

“In our opinion, we selected 350 CJTF members and trained them in different skills for 3 months, so before they get the start-up package, we want them to understand the retirement of companies and what they need to do to grow in their choice company .
