Yogi Adityanath, the prime minister of Uttar Pradesh, said on Thursday that the country’s economy will improve if the rural economy is strengthened.
The Prime Minister addressed a rural development exhibition organized by the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Smriti Mahotsav Samiti in Mathura via video conference from his official residence in Lucknow.
“Deendayal Upadhyaya-ji had said that the standard of a country’s economy is judged by the economic condition of the person at the lowest rung,” Adityanath said.
He said emphasis has been placed on using technology to reduce farming costs and increase agricultural production efficiency.
In order to bring happiness to farmers’ lives, programs like Soil Health Card, Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana etc. are being implemented in the country, the prime minister said.
