UK targets 2.5% growth in medium term

LONDON, Sept. 23 (Reuters) – Britain’s Chancellor of the Exchequer Kwasi Kwarteng said on Friday he aims for economic growth of 2.5% over the medium term.

“We need a new approach for a new era, focused on growth. Our medium-term goal is to achieve 2.5% trend growth,” he said in a budget statement to parliament.

The fiscal statement was not accompanied by independent growth forecasts.
