For students and families
Your careers conversation, written down for you.
Your careers adviser uses CareersNote so they can listen properly, and so you leave with a plan. Here's how it works.
What is CareersNote?
It listens to your careers conversation and writes a short summary, with the next steps you agreed. Your adviser checks it before anyone else sees it.
Why does my adviser use it?
So they can look at you and listen, instead of writing notes while you talk. It also means nothing you talked about gets forgotten.
Do I have to say yes?
No. Your adviser will always ask first. If you'd rather not be recorded, just say so. They'll write a few notes by hand instead, and that's completely fine.
Who gets the summary?
You do. Your adviser might also send it to your parents or family, or your tutor, if that's right for you. Your adviser decides carefully who needs it.
What happens to our conversation?
- Your adviser asks first. If you say yes, they press record. You can say no.
- Names are taken out. Your name and your family's names are removed before the AI sees anything.
- A short summary is written. Your adviser checks it, and you can look at it together before you go.
- The recording isn't kept. The full word-for-word version is deleted once your adviser approves the summary. It's never used to train AI.
What you'll get
An email with what you talked about and the next steps you agreed, so you know exactly what to do next. Here's an example.
